IT`S TIME TO TALK ABOUT NICOTINE
The sixth edition of the Global Forum on Nicotine (GFN) will once again be held at the Marriott Centrum Hotel, in Warsaw, from Thursday 13th to Saturday 15th June 2019.
From the GFN Website-
GFN is the only international conference to focus on the role of safer nicotine products that help people switch from smoking. The rapid development and use of safer nicotine products raises a number of challenging scientific questions about their safety, who uses them and why, and the impact on smoking. These products also raise issues for governments who seek to understand what kind of policy and regulation is appropriate.
The conference examines the rapidly developing science in relation to nicotine and its use, including policy and regulatory responses. The theme for GFN 2019 is ‘It’s time to talk about nicotine’ and will examine how attitudes towards the use of nicotine are changing and at some of its more positive and potentially beneficial uses.
This was the first time I had the pleasure of representing the NNA and consumers from Australia in Warsaw. The experience was one I will not forget, and although the jet lag has finally bid farewell, and my mind given a chance to breathe, I cannot stop reflecting on how extraordinary and significant this event was.
It's all about the people..
Whilst conferences allow one to brush up on their prospective subject matters, and or contribute one’s experience, they’re also an opportunity to meet and network with like-minded people who share a similar focus.
As busy as the schedule was, evenings allowed me to spend some time with many THR advocates – Samrat Chowdhery, Julie Woessner, Asa Saligupta, Nancy Sutthoff and Jan Walsh from AVCA.
It was also nice to finally meet people such as Dr Farsilinos, filmmaker Aaron Biebert, Dr Charles Gardner, PhD, Ronald Dworkin, M.D, PhD, as well as a plethora of others.
The Michael Russell Oration with Dr Ronald Dworkin. Plus the Presentation of Awards 2019.
